Alloy chain slings are by far the most durable of all the slings, have high temperature resistance, don’t tend to kink, so extremely flexible, zero stretch and the only sling that you can easily adjust the length if it has shortening hooks. The are heavy compared to other slings and initially expensive but because of their durability and flexibility often are cheaper than other slings per lift. Used mostly in two and four leg bridle configurations, OSHA allows chain slings to be repaired if one chain leg gets damaged or hooks get stretched. They are best when handling steel, especially with sharp edges compared to other sling types. Available with a variety of hook options including self-locking, swivel, foundry, sling and grab style.
