By far our most used service, we offer proof test certification for slings, bridles and pendant lines. With our 200,000 lb test bed we can test new and used wire rope slings up to 2-¼” any length as we have the ability to grip the cable along its body. We can test web and round slings up to 60 ft. and chain slings to 30 ft.
With two cylinders we have a smaller faster ram for quickly testing smaller slings to keep your costs down and a larger slower ram just for big slings. We have computerized print outs that read directly from the load cells and allow us to preset test loads to avoid accidental overstressing.
All tested slings have a thick stainless steel certification tag attached that won't rip off and is legible for years. The tag has our company name, date tested, sling diameter, length, working load limit for verticals, choke and basket hitches with warning information on the back. The attached certification papers include all the above along with the load test amount in in ether pounds or tons.
Rigging hardware can also be tested like chain falls, lever hoists, shackles, hooks, rings, sockets, blocks, swivels and turnbuckles.
Used sling and rigging hardware inspection can be done on site in the field or sent to our location in Anchorage. We start with a visual inspection and any that pass can be logged in with an RFID program or an electronic report. Ones that don't passed are destroyed and can be replaced upon the customer's request. If proof testing is required, we can do so and attach a tag and paper certificate.
An additional service for used slings is relubricating with PreLube 19 grease for extended protection.
We do 30 min to 2 hrs classes on sling inspection and when to remove from service. Our 4 hour class adds choosing best sling for the job, sling angles and basic rigging.
We repair used rope or web cargo nets and can give you a quote ahead of time by sending us a few photos to see if it's cost effective.
